| Revenue deptt retrieves 1000 kanals land from grabbers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDAHAMPUR, FEB 21-Consequent upon the directions passed by the Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, the revenue department of the district Udhampur has initiated the process of retrieval of government land and eviction process is going on against land grabbers who have grabbed the state land.
District administration has constituted teams for verification of such land under the supervision of senior revenue officers to locate the state land and evict the illegal occupant from it.
According to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Baseer Ahmed Khan, stringent action warranted under law is being initiated against the land grabbers who so ever shall be found involved in this practice. As a prelude to this objective/drive special teams have been constituted to conduct spot verification and eviction of encroachers from villagers Mongouri, Galoit,Battal, Dalsar, Ladda, Hartrian, Patiardi,Kothi Malhad,Barrolla, Ram Nagar, Bhagpur, Panchari, Sial Salan, Udhampur etc.
The Deputy Commissioner has constituted a special committee headed by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue to enquire into the grabbing of the land by land mafia who has submitted a preliminary report pertaining to a few villages. The enquiry with regard to other villages is being pursued keenly so that strict action can be taken to monitor and discourage such type of encroachment.
