SMJ organises "Basant Ke Harkare"

Jammu, Feb 21: Sanskriti Manch Jammu (SMJ) has started a series based on HIndi poetry of Jammu and Kashmir known as "Basant Ke Harkare". The series started with poet and critic Dr. Ashok Kumar. The programme was dedicated to the loving memory of the founder member of SMJ, Mohinder Singh "Ranjoor" who was a great thinker, writer and cultural activist.
The programme was organised in Prof. Gian Chand Hall of Urdu Department of Jammu University. Shailendra Chouhan, eminent writer and Editor of 'Dharti' presided over the function. While paying rich tributes to Mohinder Singh "Ranjoor", Chouhan said that though writers and poets have written abundance of value based poems but no poem can has its imprints unless it is based on some ideology.
He said that Dr Ashok's poetry was well matured in this way. Noted poet and cultural activist Manoj Sharma, Founder member of SMJ, Sanjay Gupta and others paid floral tributes to Mohinder Singh "Ranjoor". Manoj Sharma also recited a poem dedicated to "Ranjoor".
In his welcome address, Abhimanyu Sharma, President SMJ said during the series of "Basant Ke Harkare" programme, the poems of a poet will be recited, a paper presentation based on his writings and interaction with poet will be done. Besides a poster exhibition on the works of the poet will also be organised.
On this occasion, Amita Mehta presented a paper entitled, "Samajik Sarokaron Se Judi Ashok Ki Kavita". The paper was well appreciated by the audience.
During the programme, Dr Ashok Kumar recited his many poems include "Tumhara Aana", " Beti", "Arambh Mein", "Red Alert" etc; which were greatly appreciated by the audience present over there. During an interaction session with Poet Dr Ashok Kumar some eminent personalities
include Ramesh Mehta, former secretary, Cultural Academy, Prof Shoaib Inayat Malik, HOD Urdu Department, Dr Nirmal Vinod,, Dr. Ishfaq, HOD of Urdu Department of Lucknow University have raised thought provoking queries about his writings and his association with andy ideology.
Dr Ashok Kumar not only answered their queries but also shared some untouched aspects of his literary journey.
A poster exhibition based on Dr Ashok's works was also organised which were got managed by poet and painter, Kunwar Shakti Singh.
Besides others, Dr OP Diwedi, Sr. Deedar Singh, Director of Rangyug Deepak Kumar, Raj Kumar "Bahrupia" and family members of Mohinder Singh "Ranjoor" were also present on this occasion.
The programme was ably conducted by General Secretary of the SMJ, Sheikh Mohd Kalyan while Kunwar Shakti Singh presented vote of thanks.
