| Sukhnandan demands restoration of power in gangwan | | | JAMMU | NOV 11 BJP Kissan Morcha state president Ch. Sukhnandan, after visiting and interacting with the inhabitants of village Gangwan in Marh block, urged upon the PDD to restore power supply to the villagers who have legal connections at the earliest. He said that power supply to whole of the village was disconnected about 15 days ago as some villagers whose illegal connections were being disconnected manhandled the PDD officials. He said the department has every right to disconnect the illegal connection but it should ensure that consumers with legal connections do not suffer. Sukhnandan said that disconnecting even legal connection is not fair and the same should be re-connected so that law abiding and legal consumers have not suffer any more. He said for the last 15 days life in their village had come to standstill as no grinding of wheat is possible in absence of electricity. Pumping motors installed in fields to pump water from under the ground are not functioning. Children cannot study in the evenings. Villagers cannot go out after the sun set as whole of the village wears a black out like situation. He said that whole of the village should not be punished for the action of a handful of people of hoped that the department would immediately restore power supply to all such villagers who own legal connections. Condemning attack on PDD officials by some villagers he, said that those guilty be booked under law. He said that he personality called on the Addl. SP, Jammu Rural, and asked him to see that no leniency is shown to those who were involved in the episode of manhandling of the PDD officials.
