| Gulmarg hosting snow cycling | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
GULMARG, Feb.23: During Gulmarg Snow Festival in Jammu and Kashmir, snow cycling attracted many and emerged a favorite sport of the winter.
Gulmarg is the epicenter of winter adventure sports in the country. Department of Tourism in Jammu and Kashmir organizes the snow festival annually. Snow cycling was added to skiing and gliding in the festival just two years ago.
Though it failed to attract tourists initially, this year many people participated in snow cycling. "Here in Gulmarg, only skiing was popular earlier. Then, we cooperated with the tourism department and started snow cycling. We told them that we are national-level athletes and even participated in international events. We told them that we want cycling to be a part of the festival," said a snow cycling coach.
