J&K to host Strength Lifting nationals in March | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 23 : Jammu and Kashmir has been allotted the 17th Senior National Strength Lifting Championships to be conducted at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here from March 21 to March 24. In addition, the hosts, J&K Strength Lifting Association shall also be holding Eighth Master Men and Third Inclint Bench Press Championships during the four-day long competition. “It was for the second time that J&K has been allotted the national event for Jammu with first being in 2009 by the Indian Strength Lifting Federation,” Minister for Sports, R S Chib told SAN while sharing details on behalf of the host Association. About 400 lifters, representing different states of the country, are expected to compete for the top honours in two events of Strength Lifting and Inclint Bench Press. And to make the event a success, the J&K State Sports Council has provided venue, needed equipments and services of the concerned coaches to the Association. Founded in 2002, the Strength Lifting Association of the state has achieved success at the national level. The state players have won gold and silver medals at the national level.
