Journalism diploma holders want merger in AIR | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Doda, Feb 23: All Jammu and Kashmir Journalism and Mass Communication Diploma holders Association has hailed the principal secretary to Chief Minister B B Vyas for giving instruction to Director Information for filling all vacant pots of reporters in the Information department by recruiting the trained and mass communication qualified youths for the said posts . Mohammad Majid Malik its President in a meeting held here said that whole information department is non functional in the state especially in Jammu region included at Doda district as all posts of editors ,correspondents and reporters are vacant from the last so many years which needed government attention earlier but no way all those who has done diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication should be appointed as soon as possible at district level in the state so that unemployment may decrease and young journalist may get chance to exhibit their talent . Malik described the instruction of Principal secretary of CM right decision in the right direction. Malik also said that in the 90s govt opened All India Radio station at Bhaderwah but till day there is no improvement or up graduation in its functioning because no journalist was engaged in it and station officer some years back engaged some government teachers as allowances in it throwing all norms to winds and ignored journalist fraternity and artists, Malik said and added that now when Bhaderwah town is on tourist map and recently CM approved Master Plan for the town, it is the duty of the state government and Director Radio Kashmir ,Jammu to appoint Journalists and artists.
