JAMMU NOV 11 The National Conference activists under the leadership of its District President Jammu Chander Mohan Sharma staged a dharna at Indira Chowk here today in protest against the steep rise in prices of essential commodities.
Addressing the party activists, Sharma criticized that coalition government for its failure to check prices of essential commodities adding that it is affecting common people. He said that people are fed up with the functioning of coalition government and are keeping their eye on the National Conference with the hope that it will project the cause of people with government.
Sharma urged the government to take immediate steps to check rising prices failing which the National Conference would intensify its stir and organize massive dharnas and protests and even gherao the Civil Secretariat.
Among others who joined the dharna were Bimla Luthra former MLA, Sucha Singh, block President, Ashanand, Ashwani Charak, Mohan Lal and Ashok Kumar, Ashok Singh Manhas and Subash Chander, Corporators.
