| Co-operate for smooth conduct of proceedings: Speaker to legislators | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 23: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone has sought cooperation of legislators for smooth conduct of proceedings during ensuing Budget session.
Speaker was speaking at All Party Legislators' meeting convened to discuss issues with regard to conduct of the business and other arrangements for the session. Legislators highlighted various issues and gave valuable suggestions for holding house proceedings in a congenial atmosphere in accordance with norms of parliamentary democracy.
Speaker welcomed the suggestions of the Members and assured that the proceedings would be held in a very cordial manner. He said that every legislator would be given ample opportunity to raise the public issue of his constituency.
Responding to the demand of political leaders of various shades regarding the print and electronic coverage of the proceedings of the Budget Session, the Speaker assured adequate coverage of the proceedings. He said the concerned have been asked to ensure equitable coverage of legislators irrespective of their party affiliations.
Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar, Advisor to Chief Minister and Chief Whip National Conference (NC) Mubark Gul, Leader Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Legislature Party Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, People's Democratic Front (PDF) Leader Hakim Mohammad Yasin, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party Leader Harsh Dev Singh, CPIM Leader M. Y Tarigami, PDP Legislator, Zulafkar Ali, Chief Whip BJP Legislature Party, Ashok Kumar Khajuria and Independent Legislator Ashwani Kumar Sharma besides, Secretary, Law, G. H. Tantray and Secretary Assembly, M. Ramzan attended the meeting.
