| Awareness on Healthy Baby camp held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 23: A block level awareness camp on healthy baby show under ‘IEC” was held at Marh block in the premises of CDPO office Marh.
A large number of nursing mothers as well as Anganwadi Workers, Anganwadi Helpers attended the camp. The camp was inaugurated by Sukhnandan Choudary, MLA Marh. He stressed upon the sound health of children from 0 to 6 yrs in particular the babies in laps of down trodden mothers of the society.
Other guests viz Block Medical Officer, Marh and Block Development Officer, Marh, praised the various schemes being implemented under ICDS sector of social welfare department. The benefit of these schemes on ground level was highlighted by Child Development Officer, March.
On the basis of competitive health of the babies who participated in the camp, the prizes were distributed to three healthy babies on their merit adjudged by medical officers who were also present in the camp. In the end the MLA distributed fifteen scholarship cheques among the wards of AWWs/AWHs on behalf of Life Insurance Corporation of India.
