| Truck driver held with 700 kg poppy straw | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 23: A truck driver was arrested here today along with 700 kilograms of poppy straw, a powdery substance used as a narcotic drug.
Police sources said cops intercepted a truck at Galander crossing near Srinagar and recovered 700 kg poppy from it.
Soon thereafter, the truck was seized and its driver Balvinder Singh of Jalalpora in Haryana arrested.
Police had registered a case against him.
