Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 23:
A tantrik, who had last week taken away a woman's gold chain by cheating her at her residence at Dhuna Chak near Ramgarh in Samba, was today arrested by police.
Police sources said tantrik Tarsem Lal of Hansa Dabbar, Bishnah, had last week gone to the residence of Seema Devi at Dhuna Chak and asked her to place her gold chain on the ground to purify her house of the evil effects of negative souls.
While pretending to purify the house, he asked her to bring a glass of water. When she went inside, the tantrik fled the spot along with the gold chain, the sources added. Sources said when Seema came out of the kitchen with water, she
found the tantrik missing and raised an alarm.
Though her neighbours searched for the tantrik, they could not find any clue to his whereabouts, the sources added. Seema then brought the matter to the notice of Ramgarh police station. After about a week of investigation, cops apprehended the
accused today and also recovered the chain from him. A case was registered against him at the Ramgarh police station.
