Decks cleared for PDC’s soccer team | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 24: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has cleared the proposal mooted by Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) to raise a football team as also to set up of an academy to promote game in the state. Chief Minister was chairing the 61st meeting of Board of Directors of the JKSPDC here to review the status of various projects. Speaking to the board members, Chief Minister directed JKSPDC to encourage local talent and create opportunities for them by providing them a platform to excel. “You should focus on nurturing local talent in football by giving them training through qualified coaches”, he said adding that the Corporation should also raise the necessary infrastructure for the purpose.
