| Protect newly weds, HC directs SSP Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb-24 :- In a petition filed by Ritu Rani and Kamaljit seeking directions to the official respondents to provide adequate security to their lives as they are facing grave threats at the hands of the parents of the girl.
Justice Virender Singh after hearing the parties issued notice to the official respondents and disposed of petition as prayed by the counsel for the petitioners with the observations that SSP Jammu shall personally look into the matter and ensure protection to the newly wedded couple (petitioners) so as to avoid any untoward incident at the hands of private respondents (parents of the girl). Court further directed SSP that he would also ensure that if any complaint is made by the private respondents against the Kamaljit, the same shall be brought to its logical end by verifying all the facts. Similarly, if any complaint is moved by the petitioner Ritu Rani against her parents or any of the family members of her parental side, the said complaint shall also brought to its logical conclusion on its own facts so that neither of the party acts violently as the issue at hand being of very sensitive nature. With these observations disposed of the petition and CMP also. JNF
