PM assures one lakh jobs to JK youth

New Delhi, Feb 24 : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today announced that the Government had almost finalised a plan for the creation of 50,000 to one lakh jobs for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to stop them from ''being misled by wrong persons.''

Once these jobs will be in hand the mindset of the people is '' bound to change'' in the State, the Prime Minister said while replying to the debate in the Lok Sabha on the motion of thanks on the President's Address.


He said the Government will not allow any secessionist forces to control the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

''We will not do anything that will encourage secessionist forces.'' He said it was the events of the last summer were unfortunate for the State but the situation has improved a lot now. The Centre was with the State Government in controlling the situation and ''we earnestly hope that it would not return again,'' the PM added.

Dr Singh requested all political parties not to undertake any such activities in that State so as to disturb the situation.
