Debate, Poster Making, Cartooning competitions on day two of “Display Your Talent”

On the second day “Display Your Talent”, an Inter-Collegiate and Inter-Departmental event of Jammu University (JU), Cartooning, On the Spot Poster Making and Debate competitions were held in two different sessions at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, JU. Vinay Kumar from the Department of Sociology, JU was adjudged as the best in debating contest whereas Stanzin from MAM College and Sachin Bhagat from The Law School, JU were declared best in Cartooning and Poster Making competitions respectively.
In the morning session, Debate competition was held on the topic “The Development of India is closely connected with the population of the country”. The students expressed their views “For and Against” the motion. Vinay Kumar of Deptt of Sociology was declared as the best in the competition followed by Divya Sharma of Parade College and Vijay Kumar of Guru Nanak College of Education. The debating competition was organized on the request made by the Indian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development, New Delhi. The first and second prize winners shall be deputed for participation in the National Debating Contest being organized at Delhi on Nov 17-18.
In the afternoon session, Cartooning and On the Spot Poster Making contests were held. In Cartooning, Stanzin of MAM College was adjudged as the best followed by Kanwar Iqbal of Medical College Jammu and Neeraj Sharma of GGM Science College. The topics for the contest were National Political Scenario, Darbar Move, University Canteen and Roadside Dhaba Scene. Noted artists Bhushan Kesar and Manoj Chopra were the experts for the contest. In Poster Making, Sachin Bhagat of Law School, JU stood first followed by Stanzin of MAM College and Himani Jain of Deptt of Psychology, JU. The topics for the contest were Save Water, Prevent Aids and Female Foeticide. The students prepared beautiful posters with water colours, poster and pastel colours. Dev Dass, S T S Batra and Suresh Sharma were among the adjudicators.
