National Games: J&K’s medal tally up to 7 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, February 25: With one medal each in fencing and weightlifting, the medal tally of Jammu and Kashmir has gone up to seven in the ongoing 34th National Games at Jharkhand. Although J&K could not win a goal as yet, still the performance seems to be encouraging considering the sports infrastructure back home. The medal tally included three silver and four bronze. The highest number of three medals J&K won in rhythmic gymnastics (two silver and a bronze) while weightlifting, boxing and canoing made state proud with a one medal each. In weightlifting, Gobind Singh has won a silver medal in 85 kg category while Jagmeet Singh claimed a bronze in 91 kg weight category in boxing. Sub-Inspector with J&K Police and senior fencer, Rashid Ahmed won a bronze medal in men’s Sabre event. In water sports, Adil Mohiudin Bhat bagged a bronze in 500 meters men’s singles Canoe (c1m) event. What these athletes have achieved was due to their personal efforts and hard work put in by their coaches.
