Dispose off land compensation cases quickly: Bhalla to DDCs

Jammu, February 25: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has directed the District Development Commissioners (DDCs) to ensure quick disposal of land compensation cases so that projects under execution especially in R&B sector could be completed within prescribed time frame.


The direction was passed by the Minister while chairing a high level meeting of officers, here today.Financial Commissioner, Parmod Jain, Secretary Revenue, Ejaz Iqbal besides other senior officers of Revenue Department were present in the meeting.

Bhalla stressed on expeditious assessment of actual amount of acquired land and other details so that the compensation is given to the deserving population well in time.


Regarding regularization of Shri Chichi Mata temple land under Roshni Act in Samba district, the meeting was informed that the district administration has sorted out the matter and regularized 27 kanals of State land vesting ownership rights to Shri Chichi Mata Temple trust. He asked the officers to gear up for clearing the pending cases under the scheme after assessing the revenue record and disburse compensation as per the approved norms to the affected people.

Earlier, at Trikuta Nagar, Extension, the Minister laid foundation of causeway over canal, coming up at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh. While interacting with the locals, Bhalla said with the completion of bridge over the canal, the traffic congestion on Trikuta Nagar Extension road would be eased out. He inspected the ongoing construction work of a bridge at Trikuta Nagar, Sector -4, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 20 lakh.

At Hakal village, Bhalla started up-gradation work of Chatha to Hakal road, to be upgraded at an estimated cost of Rs. 16 lakh. Responding to the locals demand, the Minister announced Rs. 4.80 lakh for construction of 400- meter long deep drain in the area. He asked the concerned department to complete the development works within stipulated time frame for the benefit of general masses. Bhalla also attended the annual day function of Kidzee-a Growing Unique Child pre-school of Anand Nagar, Bohri and Gandhi Nagar.
