TUF demands special recruitment drive for Gujjars | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 25: Strongly denouncing anti-tribal policy of government which led to the accumulation of huge backlogs of Scheduled Tribes in various departments, J&K Tribal United Forum (TUF) today urged the government to implement in toto reservation of Scheduled Tribes in all recruitments. In a meeting held here today, leaders of the forum alleged that the government had done recruitment in thousands on contractual and temporary basis but unfortunately didn’t follow the principles of reservation in such employments thus debarring these communities from their constitutional rights. Roshan Din Choudhary, President of Forum while speaking on the occasion said that in every recruitment process, government remained least bothered about the representation of Scheduled Tribes and he questioned government about share of STs in regularization of contractual employees which is being done as per recently promulgated SRO. Among many others who spoke on the occasion were Tanwir Ahmed, Prof. Arif Sajad, Advocate Khalid Mustafa Bhatti, Advocate Tanzir Khatana, Advocate Pervaiz Choudhary and Khursheed Ul Islam.
