Development of weaker section priority of govt | Rs. 6.70 cr auditorium at Gandhi Nagar soon: Bhalla | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 26: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla has said development of weaker section inhabitations is the top priority of coalition government adding that efforts are on to provide safe drinking water, power, road connectivity, healthcare, education to the inhabitations of these bastis. This was stated by Bhalla while interacting with the people after assessing development related problems at various basties including Balmiki, Bazigar, Kacha and Pacca Talab, Nai Basti near Ram Lila Chowk, Digiana Pulli, Govind Nagar in Digiana, Preet Nagar and Roop Nagar. Bhalla asked the Commissioner JMC to prepare detailed project report for construction of public utility hall at Balmiki Colony and upgradation of lanes and drains with grating facilities at Bazigar, Kacha and Pacca Talab, Nai Basti near Ramlila Chowk, Digiana Pulli, Govind Nagar Digiana, Preet Nagar and Roop Nagar in Gangyal basties and submit the same for funding so that the works could be started after getting it through. Minister asked the accompanying officers to reach out to the weaker sections and resolve their problems on priority without any delay. At Digiana, Minister inspected the ongoing construction work of deep drain on the left edge of Satwari-Kunjwani road, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 25 lakh. He asked the engineers to complete the construction works within stipulated time frame using quality material. Responding to the locals demand, Bhalla asked the Commissioner, JMC to prepare the estimates for upgradation of internal lanes and drains of the area and submit the same for funding so that the fixation of interlock tiles could be started. Earlier, the Minister attended the Annual Day Function of Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School, Rajpura Mangotrian, Jammu as Chief Guest.
