NRHM Samelan held at Kathua

KATHUA, Feb 26: In Order to popularize National Rural Health Mission, District Health Society Kathua organized Mega Samelan at town hall here today.
Minister along with other dignitaries lighted the traditional lamp. Speaking on the occasion the Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma thanked MLAs, MLCs, and District administration for taking part in the samelan. He disclosed that Rs. 12000 crore was to be spent under this programme but we have not achieved the optimum goal under this programme. He said that under health care, J&K has stood first in the country.
Highlighting importance of flagship programme, said that this ambitious programme has helped the state to improve the health facilities in the rural and far flung areas. He exhorted upon the doctors and Para medical staff to work with more dedication and honesty as serving the humanity is the best prayer.
He said that we have to maintain accountability and responsibility. He disclosed that the Government has already taken various welfare measures for the doctors, Para medics and ASHA workers enhancing their incentives. He asked the MLA s for proper monitoring of Health institutions.
Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma while speaking on the occasion thanked the Health Minister for holding such type of NRHM Samelan. He said due to hard efforts the state has achieved first position in health care in the country. Minister said that Health sector is among priority sectors for the coalition Government headed by Omar Abdullah and the government is committed to provide better health facilities to its people.
Later the minister gave away trophies and cash prizes among best ASHA workers. They include Santosh Kumari of Hiranagar, Veena Devi of Nagri parole, Bishno Devi of Billawar, Kunti Devi of Bani and Darshana Devi of Basohli. At the end, CMO Kathua presented vote of thanks. Minister of State for Cooperatives, Finance and Planning, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, MLA, Bani, Lal Chand, MLA, Basohli, Jagdish Raj Sapolia, Director NRHM and Family Welfare, Director Horticulture, District officers, Director Drug Control, Paramedics, ANMs, Anganwari workers, Doctors, Prominent citizens and ASHA workers of the district were present in the samelan.
