| Grenade attack in Pulwama widely condemned | | ‘PCC describes the act as frustration on the part of ultras’ | | JAMMU NOV-11 The yesterday’s grenade attack at a mosque at Tahab Pulwama resulting into death of six persons and injured over four dozen others has evoked sharp and wide- spread criticism describing this act of the militants as cowardice and against the tenants of Islam. Senior leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee have strongly condemned the grenade attacks on a Friday congregation at a mosque in Talab Pulwama and Lal Chowk Srinagar in which six persons got killed and about 50 others sustained injuries. In a joint statement the PCC leaders have strongly condemned the most dastardly and inhuman act of terrorists targeting those offering prayers. This shows the ugliest face of the forces of violence, the party leaders said, adding this clearly indicates the frustration among the militant cadres, who are feeling isolated because of the growing public support to the policies and programs of the government and the process of peace and normalcy. They also expressed their sympathies with the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery by the injured. The statement among others was issued by Dharman Paul Sharma, S Pardhuman Singh, MLC, Thakur Hari Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Baldev Sharma, Om Chopra, Thakur Balwaan Singh, Amolak Singh, Raval Mattoo, Ashwani Puri, Shanti Vaid, Nek Mohammed, B B Gupta and Nazir Ahmed. In the meanwhile Shiv Sena Hindustan while strongly condemning the attack on a mosque has appealed to the Chief Minister to firmly deal with the terrorism. Addressing a party meeting called to condemn the grenade attack at Friday congregation, the Party President Dimpy Kohli extended his parties full support to any step taken by the government to deal with the terrorism. ‘By attacking the mosque and killing the innocent people it has been clarified that the terrorists have no human values or any religion’, he said adding that the healing touch policy of Mufti government has failed to work and called for dealing the terrorists only by an eye for an eye’. Vice President Gian Sharma asked the leaders to dedicate themselves for the country rather thinking for their personal benefits and called for given powers to the forces to tackle the militancy with a firm hand. Those present at the meeting were senior vice president Pritam Sharma, Yash Paul Khjajuria, Rahul Kesar, Baba Sahni,Bhupinder Sharma, Ashwini Gupta, Pankaj Sahni. Vikas Dewan,Pradeep Bhalla and Parveen Gupta. Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party while strongly condemning the grenade attack have urged upon the Army and the Police not to show any laxity towards the killers of humanity. In a statement the JKNPP leaders including PK Ganju, Naveen Bakshi, Anita Thakur, Dalgit Singh, Bansi Lal Sharma while condemning the attack on the Friday congregation said that the militants should understand that killing of innocent persons is most sinful act and such acts would lead them no where. These leaders also expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
