| BJP protest against shortage of ration supply | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 26: Led by senior Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader and Jammu West MLA Chaman Lal Gupta, hundreds of party activists staged protest Dharna outside the office of Director, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CAPD) department on Akhnoor Road against less supply of ration items.
Gupta, on this occasion, said that the people of the constituency have been made to suffer as the fixed quota of 35 kg ration per card is not being released. He said that despite repeated assurances from the concerned minister, CAPD has failed to release the quota as announced, forcing people to come on streets and agitate.
Dharna was lifted after the assurance of CAPD Director that he will try to see that two more bags of flour of 10 kg each are made available and those who have not purchased five kilograms of Rice too can get flour in place of rice. Chander Mohan Sharma, Anil Gupta, Surinder Sharma, Krishan Lal Gupta, Murari Lal, Parshant Puri, Sanjay Baru, Praduman Singh, Pushpa Wazir, Ayodhya Kumar, Ram Kumar, Dinesh Gupta, Munish Khajuria Balwan Singh, Keshav Chopra and others took part in the protest Dharna.
