| Seminar on Panchayati Raj at Kathua | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Feb 26: A Seminar on Panchayati Raj in J&K was organized by Jammu & Kashmir Panchayati Parishad at Mehta palace here today.
Member Parliament (MP) Choudhary Lal Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Among others General Secretary All India Panchayati Parishad Nasir Ahmed Khan, Abdul Ghani Naseem, Jugal Kishore, activists and large number of people were present on the occasion. Various spokesmen speak on the
Panchayati Raj and threw light on the Panchayati Raj system in National Development. District President also spoke on the occasion and said that the aim of this seminar is to apprise people about the advantages of Panchayati Raj. General Secretary All India Panchayati Parishad (AIPP) said that Panchayati is the tool for all round development of the village and every villager should participate to elect their representative for the development of their respective Panchayat.
Member Parliament Choudhary Lal Singh thanked the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Parishad to organize such seminars which will help to aware the masses about the concept of Panchayati Raj system. He said that many funds are provided by the centre to the village for the development of basic amenities through Panchayat.
