DSP manhandles ex-sarpanch, people protest | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 26: Over an alleged incident of manhandling of the ex-sarpanch of Karsoli by SDPO, Bari Brahmana, people today held a demonstration outside the latter's office, demanding action against him. Police sources said Karsoli's ex-sarpanch Dharam Singh yesterday went to SDPO, Bari Brahmana, DSP Naresh Singh's office to enquire about a complaint lodged against him by Mohan Lal of his village. In his complaint, Mohan alleged that Dharam had encroached upon his piece of land at Karsoli, the sources added. Sources said while discussing the matter with the DSP, he had heated exchanges with him following which the police officer allegedly manhandled him and pushed him out of his office. In protest against the incident, some supporters of Dharam today gathered outside the DSP's office and held a demonstration against him. They were demanding action against the DSP and his immediate transfer. SSP, Samba, Israr Khan later reached the spot and pacified the protesters. Following an assurance by him that a probe would be held into the incident, the people dispersed peacefully. |
