Fairness of BOPEE examinations doubtful, alleges candidates | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 27: Notwithstanding the claims made by Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) authorities who conducted the examinations of MD, MS and other PG courses, the candidates who appeared recently have many apprehensions about the fairness in conducting these examinations. The candidates and their parents who doubt the fairness of the examination as claimed by BOPEE authorities criticized the decision of the board for not going for the re-evaluation of the papers in case of any candidate having doubt on the marks given to him or her. Moreover, failure on the part of BOPEE to publish the key for answers is another cause of concern for the candidates aspiring for PG courses in medical. Though various student organizations including ABVP have been demanding for years together that the key of the question papers be published so that the doubts of students get cleared but the authorities concerned have failed to do the same. This has been a cause of concern for the candidates who allege that the results are not based on fairness. Before making their claims the authorities of BOPEE should explain that why the rank number 22 is missing in the merit list? In the merit list published on February 23 for MD and MS the serial number and rank go together from serial number one to serial 21. But with the serial number 22 the rank 23 has been given instead of rank 22 which is missing in the entire list. Muzaffar Ahmed son of Ghulam Hassan Malik with 232 marks stands on rank 21 in the merit list and Imran Ahmed Gartoo son of Ghulam Nabi Gartoo with 232 marks also stands for rank 23 while the rank 22 is missing. The BOPEE should explain the reason for this mistake as why the rank 22 has not been included in the list. Moreover, there is no strictness is maintained in the examination halls as well and the seating arrangements are made in such a way that candidates talk freely in examination centre and discuss the answer with their colleagues sitting adjacent to each other which erodes the basic sanctity of these examinations. The BOPEE authorities who make many claims of conducting the examinations in a fair manner should reply these questions that why the key is not being published, why revaluation of papers is not allowed and why the sanctity of examination is not maintained.
