UFCCBE felicitates Co-operative Minister

JAMMU, Feb 27: United Forum of the Citizen’s Cooperative Bank Employees (UFCCBE), Jammu felicitated Minister of State for Co-operatives, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma for revolutionizing the functioning of bank through his strenuous efforts.
Senior Comrade, M P Sharma delivered welcome address in the function that was held at administrative office of the Citizen’s Cooperative Bank Ltd at Gandhi Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, President of the Forum, Vinay Gupta said: “The ousted management of the bank was harassing its employees thereby affecting the functioning of the bank. Besides this, the same management was also pursuing many defective policies by indulging in wasteful expenditure therefore causing heavy losses to the bank.”
“However the timely efforts of the Minister have come to the rescue of not only bank but also the entire co-operative sector,” he added.
General Secretary, Comrade Parvinder Kumar and Chairman Comrade Yash Pal Singh highlighted the problems of general staff.
Yash Pal Singh further said that the power to oust or appoint any employee including MD should remain with the government only as there remains every possibility of misuse of power by the elected board
On the occasion, the Forum members submitted a memorandum of demands to the Minister.
In his formal address, the Minister for cooperatives Manohar Lal assured that the demands of bank employees would be considered and every possible step would be taken in the interest of employees as well as the bank.
The Minister also announced One Time Settlement Scheme for borrowers and appealed people to avail them of the “golden opportunity” till March 31.
MD of Bank, Ashok Goswami maintained that a record amount of Rs 18 crore was realised as recovery during the current financial year besides realizing an amount of Rs 5.50 crore in old and chronic long pending cases.
Secretary Co-operatives, Abdul Hamid Wani was also present on the occasion.
