CAPD constitute special squads for over charging | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 27- A special drive has been launched by the CA&PD Department for conducting inspections/surprise checks on the eve of Maha Shivratri. For this purpose three special squads have been constituted which are headed by Assistant Director Enforcement Wing/Assistant Director, Rationig Circle-I, II and III under the able guidance of Deputy Director Supplies (head of Enforcement Wing) to regulate smooth supplies of essentials. In its continuing drive the special squads have inspected Durga Nagar area, Bantalab, Upper Roop Nagar, Migrant Camp and other residential areas of Kashmiri Pandit Community and general consumers and realized a fine to the tune of Rs.13800/- from the defaulters of essential commodities such as vegetable sellers (Nandroo seller), mutton sellers and fast food vendors. The users of LPG domestic cylinders for commercial purposes also challaned on spot. The team directed all the shopkeepers/fast food vendors to display rates of the essential commodities on their shops prominently for the convenience of the consumers and not to indulge in over charging. The action shall be initiated against the defaulters under the provisions of Price Display Order/Essential Commodity Act-1955
