62 kg hashish seized, two held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT MUMBAI, Feb 28: Two persons were arrested and 62 kg hashish worth Rs 3.10 crore in the international market recovered from their possession, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said here today. Acting on a tip off, a trap was laid in Vasai area of neighbouring Thane district on Saturday and a suspicious truck was intercepted, NCB officials told reporters. Driver and his aide, whose identities were yet to be revealed, were held and the contraband was seized from the truck, the officials said. They suspect that the entire quantity was meant for Mumbai and were trying to ascertain the identity of the buyer in Vasai. The duo, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, have been booked under Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act, officials said, adding that the domestic market value of the contraband is Rs 1.25 crore while its international market value is Rs 3.10 crore. Further probe is on, they added.
