200 passengers still stranded at Jammu bus stand

JAMMU, Feb 28: About 200 passengers are still stranded at General Bus Stand here, official sources said here today.
“Nearly 20 SRTC buses were pressed into service by the government that shifted stranded passengers yesterday to Kashmir while three buses and many private vehicles this morning also left for the Valley as the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway opened for one way traffic,’’ official sources said here today.
They said that still about 200 passengers are stranded at General Bus stand here adding, “The process of shifting the stranded people is in progress and if the national highway remains open for smooth vehicular movement, they will be shifted to their native places.” Over 3000 valley passengers were stranded due to the blocked National Highway following fresh snowfall on Saturday.
