| PDP , JKNPP condemns brutal use of force on agitating technocrats | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 28: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned police brutality on agitating technocrats who were peacefully protesting for their genuine demands. Condemning unprovoked lathicharge and brutal use of force on agitating technocrats, who were holding peaceful protest in support of long pending demands, PDP general secretary Mohammad Dilwar Mir said that action of the police speaks about autocratic attitude of the coalition regime to stifle voice of the people through oppressive means. “Except promises this regime has done nothing during the last two years and the promises made by this government, from time to time, have remained only on papers”, he said. Extending full support to the agitating technocrats, Mir lamented that some the agitating technocrats, who were lifted by the policy and shifted to the Government Medical College Jammu are not provided any medical aid. Meanwhile a three member delegation of PDP comprising Choudhary Zulfikar, MLA Darhal, Abdul Gaffar Sofi, MLA and former Minister Peer Mohammad visited the agitating technocrats. Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party strongly condemned lathicharge on peacefully agitating agriculture technocrats and arrest thereof here today. In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that a delegation of party led by its Balwant Singh Mankotia, Syed Rafiq Shah and Pushvinder Singh Manhas called on agriculture technocrats arrested by Police at District Police Lines and expressed solidarity of the party with their genuine cause. Mankotia said that Govt has failed to solve problem of unemployment in the state and despite repeated assurance to the agriculture technocrats for redressal of their grievance by government, no action has been taken to absorb them. Meanwhile, JKNPP legislatures Harshdev Singh, Balwant Mankotia, Yashpal Kundal and Syed Rafiq Shah boycotted the Governor’s address and protested outside the state assembly complex. They said that in last Governor’s address all the promises of the government were only on paper while nothing was visible on ground. Protest was against failure of the government on constitution of delimitation commission, poll promises of Congress, Job to a family member, poll promise of National Conference, regularization of adhoc/contractual employees, payment of arrears of 6th Pay Commission, issues of Agri technocrats, Physiotherapists, SPOs/VDCs, Doda/Jammu migrants, refugees, corruption and governance deficit.
