| Lecture on “Organic synthesis and its implications on human wellbeing” organized in JU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 28: The Department of Chemistry has taken an initiative to organize a series of academic events in 2011 related to the recent development in Chemistry and allied sciences.
This initiative was taken on the occasion of the National Science Day. Even a lecture on “Organic synthesis and its implications on human wellbeing” was organized which was delivered by Professor Vinod K Singh, Director, IISER, Bhopal, & Member, Prime minister’s Scientific Advisory Committee.
The event was presided over by Prof. Varun Sahni, the Vice-Chancellor of University of Jammu.
The lecture was attended by a large number of faculty members, officers and students of the University of Jammu, its affiliated colleges and scientists from IIIM. The event was a part of the ongoing celebrations of the International Year of Chemistry – 2011, sponsored by the University Grants Commission.
