| 6th bi-monthly interaction of NABARD officials held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 28: 6th bi-monthly meet of DDMs/DDOs and Senior Officers of NABARD along with Senior Scientists of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu was held at SKUAST-J Chatha Jammu.
The meet was inaugurated by Dr. B. Mishra, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu. The officials highlighted the significance of the meeting and said that the direct interaction between the Agriculture Scientists who are engaged in latest developments in agriculture and allied activities with the officers of NABARD, who are engaged in transformation of these developments to the farmers at grass root level in rural areas.
The Vice Chancellor SKUAST-J, Dr. B.Mishra, showed his concern with regard to scarcity of water for irrigation, changes in the environment on account of global warming and emphasized the role of credit in the development of agriculture.
The Chief General Manager, M.L.Sukhdeve highlighted the major concerns of J&K state with regard to agriculture and emphasized the role of NABARD in providing Agri-inputs and flow of credit to the rural farmers.
Dr. K.S.Risam, Director Extension Education while speaking on the occasion stressed upon better ties between NABARD and agricultural Scientists for utilization of latest agricultural technologies by the farmers.
