HC suspends sentence of Senior Supply Officer JKPCC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb-28 :- Justice Sunil Hali in an appeal filed by Janak Raj Gupta then Senior Supply Officer JKPCC who was convicted and sentenced by Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu for misappropriation of Government cement in the year 1999, has suspended the imprisonment and after hearing Advocate KK Pangotra appearing for the appellant ordered in the open Court that convict released from the custody after he furnished bail bond to the tune of Rs 25000/-. Crime Branch Jammu on a source report on June 19, 1999 received information that accused Janak Raj Gupta who was then posted as Supply Officer JKPCC owned a cement store under the name and style MJ Trader near his residential house sector 4 Channi Himmat Jammu. And a case u/s 5(2) of PC Act r/w section 409/120-B RPC was registered against accused Janak Raj and his Son Ashu Gupta and after completion of investigation challan was presented in the court of Special Judge Anticorruption by the Crime Branch. And on February 23, 2011, Special Judge Anticorrosion Jammu convicted and sentenced to Janak Raj Gupta for the period two years, which was challenged the convict through his counsel.
