| 3 week refresher course in Languages held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu , Feb 28: A three week refresher course in Languages being organized by Academic Staff Colleges in collaboration with the department of Urdu commenced here today. Prof Abdul Aziz Butt, Former Registrar Universities and Dr. Arun Joshi, Editor in Chief Hindustan Times inaugurated the course in Presence of Prof. I.V. Mallan, Director Academic Staff Colleges, Prof. M.A. Wani and Dr. Ranjeet Kalra, Asstt Director Academic Staff College.
While speaking on the occasion Prof. Aziz Butt called upon the participating teachers to have faith in their abilities and to perform their duties with dedication and devotion, he also narrated many incidents from his academic carrier as examples to the teachers.
Dr. Arun Joshi, Chief Guest of the function, who holds a Ph.d degree in English Literature, in his speech highlighted the role of many renowned scholars of the sub-continent like Iqbal, Harivansh Rai Bachan for the upliftment of Indian Languages, he said that the scholars in the sub-continent are no less than the western scholars. He also emphasize the need for the preservation and promotion of languages.
