| Panthers sour over closure of evening shifts | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 1: Young Panthers today held a strong protest demonstration at MAM College, Jammu against the order issued by the state Govt. for closing all the evening shift colleges of Jammu Province.
Protest was lead by G P Singh, president MAM college who boycotted the classes of the college and held a strong protest demonstration against the state government.
Speaking on the occasion G P Singh said that state government has always treated them step motherly and never cared about the sentiments of the people of Jammu Province.
He said that state government has taken the decision of closing the Evening Shift Colleges in a hurry without thinking about the pros and cons of this order.
He said that the government has to reconsider the order of closing the Evening Shift Colleges before the situation gets worsened and students come on the roads.
Varinder Thakur, addressing the gathering said that government has deliberately taken the decision of closing the Evening Shift Colleges at such a time when student community is busy in their exams but it should be clear to the government that students’ power is nation’s power and the students of Jammu province are united and they will never let state government to implement this order.
He said that students of the Jammu Province will not leave any stone unturned to get this order revoked.
Others who were present on the occasion include Lucky Singh, Rishi Singh, Navjot Singh, etc.
