Tarigami congratulated AIFAWH on enhancement of honorarium | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March 01: Announcement made by the Finance Minister of India during the presentation of Union Budget for enhancement of honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers is, of course, the result of prolonged struggle rendered by lakhs of Anganwadi workers and helpers under the banner of All India Federation of Anganwadi Workers and Helper (AIFAWH). In a statement here today, M.Y.Tarigami State Secretary CPI (M) and MLA Kulgam has congratulated for its persistent fight for the genuine rights of Anganwadi workers and helpers which has to some extent yielded results in respect of enhancement of honorarium. However, he has expressed disappointment on having no provision for pension or gratuity benefits for this section of people in the Budget. “The rank and file of ASHA workers were rendered disappointed as no mention in respect of sanction of honorarium has been made in the union budget in their favour. ASHA workers are playing vital role in facilitating institutional deliveries besides lending a helping hand in the promotion of health services at grass-roots level”, he said.
