Over 1,000 killed in 6,129 accidents in J&K in 2010 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 1: Jammu and Kashmir government today said that 1,080 people were killed in 6,129 road mishaps in the state in 2010. In a written reply given to the state Legislative Council today, Minister for Transport Qamar Ali Akhoon revealed that as many as 303 people were killed in 1,826 accidents in Kashmir region and 777 people in 4,303 accidents in Jammu region last year. Jammu district tops the list with 192 victims in 1,684 accidents, followed by Kathua district with 111 victims in 400 accidents while the lowest number of two deaths in 82 accidents was reported in Pulwama district.
