| Protest enters 99th day | | Physiotherapists lathicharged, several injured | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 1: On the 99th day of their protest, police today arrested70 members of Jammu and Kashmir Physiotherapist Association (JKPA) while they were trying to move towards the civil secretariat here today.
March towards civil secretariat began from Shalimar Hospital, passed through Indira Chowk and came to an end few meters away from the civil secretariat where police stopped agitating Physiotherapists. They were lathicharged and later on, arrested. JKPA members Dr. Sanobar, Dr. Neha alongwith President of Haryana Physiotherapist Association (HPA) Dr. Jagat Singh were injured in the police action.
Thereafter, 70 members of JKPA were arrested by the police and kept in different police stations. Later, in the evening, all of them were released. Those arrested included Dr. Vimal Singh Manhas, Dr. Akash Manhas, Dr. Salman Khan, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Dr. Neha Bakshi, Dr. Sanobar Bashir and Dr. Jagat Singh.
Abdul Rehman Tukroo, Kamal Dev, Rajinder Singh Manhas, Victor Dhissa, Pardesh Chandel and Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami extended full support to JKPA and assured their support to JKPA members. He warned the government to come up with a handsome policy in favor of JKPA
