CE Beacon calls on Governor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MARCH 2 - The Chief Engineer, Project Beacon, Brig. T. P. S. Rawat, called on the Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, at Raj Bhavan, here today and made a detailed presentation about the various road projects being executed by Project BEACON in Jammu and Kashmir. This meeting had been scheduled in the context of the Governor’s recent visit to the Bani area of Kathua district where the residents of Bani had complained about the continuing delay in the completion of the Bani-Bhadarwah road. While lauding the good work being done by Project Beacon to provide road connectivity to the people living in the remote areas, the Governor emphasized the importance of the various road schemes in the State being completed within a fixed timeframe. He added that this was imperative to open up such areas for speedy development. Brig. Rawat, briefing the Governor about the roads and bridges being executed by the Project Beacon in the State, said that sustained measures are being taken to complete these within a fixed timeline. He said that the work on Bani-Bhadarwah road is being speeded up for its early completion.
