| Centre experimenting on Kashmir: Sagar | | | SRINAGAR,Nov12 Lashing out at New Delhi for doing "experiments on Kashmir" and "without any sincerity behind them", senior National Conference (NC) leader and former works minister, Ali Mohammed Sagar today alleged it of creating a hoax about 'self-rule' in Kashmir. "Delhi's intentions regarding Kashmir have never been sincere. This time they have started a new experiment - the self-rule," Sagar said sarcastically while adding that the coalition government that gave slogans like peace with dignity "did the converse and two of its ministers are still lying in jail in connection with the sex scandal." Sagar was speaking at a party rally at Mujahid Manzil in Srinagar organised by NC's youth wing. Sagar also blamed New Delhi of helping mushroom growth of leaders in Kashmir so that "Kashmiris could never unite on one platform". "Here we have leaders in every street and this is done at the behest of Delhi government," Sagar added. Sagar said that NC has fought for the rights of Kashmiri's with India in the past and it is still fighting with New Delhi for the same cause. "Nine of their ministers were supposed to be in jail in connection with the sex scandal that is the hallmark of this coalition government," added Sagar. In same breath, however, Sagar admitted that National Conference too committed some mistakes during its reign. Sagar assured that utmost caution would be taken in the future if NC comes to power and the mistakes made in the past shall also be rectified. Carrying forward what Sagar had asserted during his address, NC's provincial president, Dr Mehboob Beigh claimed that New Delhi had been instrumental in projecting Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and he was in turn advocating the self-rule proposal that is actually the brain child of policy makers in New Delhi. "Delhi has projected Mufti for creating confusion in Kashmir," Beigh thundered. "I want to ask Mufti that if he is sincere in his efforts to solve the Kashmir issue, then why he met Sonia Ji, Manmohan Singh, I K Gujral and Atal Behari Vajpayee before presenting the proposal in New York. Was it to take their blessing or something else," asked questioned. Terming the self rule proposal a farce, Beig said that PDP president Mehbooba Mufti's demand of regional assemblies and four month chief ministership for each of these regions is "a conspiracy". "It is not the self rule proposed by Musharaf. He demanded withdrawal of troops while PDP is running after power," claimed Beig.
