Tehreek-e-Insaf gives call for 'Chakka Jam' during PM visit | Warn assembly gherao on March 21 | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 2: In a protest against the discriminatory attitude of the government towards the militancy affected people of Jammu region, Tehreek-e-Insaf (TeI) has given a call for 'Chakka jam' at affected district headquarters of Jammu province during the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visit to Jammu and also call for 'secretariat ghero' on March 21 to protest against the discrimination meted out to them by the successive state governments. Adressing the media person chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf &ex MLA Mohd Farooq Mir alleged that despite the repeated requests to meet the Chief Minister we have not been given time so that we may discuss our problem with him. He said that they would like to know that what are the compulsions of our state and the central governments for not implementing the Supreme Court's order to bring Jammu migrants at par with Kashmiri migrants and about 12,000 families have been denied relief by the administration. Ghulam Moeudin Beig & Ravinder Raina said that thousands of people ailing from militancy affected districts of Jammu province have abandoned their homes and villages due to the threat from the militants but they have not been provided with any help by the administration. They alleged that hundreds of cases under SRO-43 are still pending in government offices and instead of addressing these cases; they have been put to backburner. He said govt. is playing with the patience of the poor people and warn that this will lead to the serious consequences and govt. will be responsible for that. Beig said by ignoring the migrants of Jammu province govt. violated the fundamental rights & now they will not sit as silent spectators.
