Balwant Thakur invited to Bangladesh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 2: Natrang Director Balwant Thakur has been invited to West Bengal and Bangladesh to participate the celebrations of International Children’s Theatre day observed by International Association for children and youth people with the support of UNESCO. Celebrations in West Bengal are opening on 8th of March, 2011 at Gobardanga Naksha, North 24 Pargana with the presentation of Balwant Thakur’s key note address ‘Search For Children’s Theatre’. The International Children’s Theatre Day celebrations will culminate on 20th March, the day which is observed by International Association for and youth people. This Indo-Bangla International event is being held in both the countries at the same time. Balwant Thakur has earned lot of respectability and repute through his two most outstanding unique children works ‘Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai’ and ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ which have been repeatedly staged in Kolkatta and other parts of West Bengal. His play Aap Hamare Hain Kaun has been translated and performed in Bengali by various groups associated with children’s theatre. His approach of children’s theatre both in content and style has acquired a distinct identity in the theatre world and is invited all over to share his innovations, dramaturgy and new concept of theatre for and by children. This interaction will include wide range of discussions including the new initiatives to introduce theatre as apart of the compulsory curriculum of the school education enabling young force of the country empowered with amazing self confidence and immense knowledge.
