Addressing a meeting of NMC activists here today, the President of the Conference Subash Shastri said that for the purpose, the Central Government and the planning Commission should find ways and means to provide special funds to needy states. He added that the centre should immediately come to the rescue of J&K and announce a special package. He said a lump sum amount of Rs. 5000 crore should be provided exclusively for the purpose and urged him to raise the income tax exemption limit to Rs. 3 lakhs in view of steep rise in the prices of essential commodities. Shafi, Surinder Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Sham Lal Sharma, Romesh Chander, Ram Pal Sharma, Kuldeep Sharma and others.
