| 10-year old blast victim scummbsto her injuries | | | Srinagar , Nov 12 One more among those injured on Friday by the grenade blast outside Tahab's Jamia Majid succumbed to injuries late last evening. The deceased, identified as ten year old Shazia, succumbed to her injuries at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura in Srinagar, police said. Shazia had been battling for life for close to 36 hours as the grenade explosion caused multiple injuries to her lean body, from head to toe. After being treated at SMHS hospital initially, Shazia was referred to SKIMS for specialized treatment, which, however came to no avail. Shazia D/o Mohammed Asraf Ganaie was sent to Tahab for burial late Saturday evening where the news of her death sent the whole village into despair once again. The Ganaie family has already lost three of its members in the blast and six more are still admitted in different hospitals in Srinagar where they are being treated for multiple injuries. Reports said that the condition of one more injured member of Ganaie family has worsened. Three other members of the Ganaie family - Nisar Ahmad (23), Sheeraza Jan (16) and Umar Maqbool (13) - have already died due to the explosion and Shazia is the fourth to succumb. Shazia was hit by several splinters all over her body, rendering her lifeless. Shazia's lower limbs were badly hurt and her cheat and lower abdomen bore the marks of several splinters that pierced through her skin. One of the splinters had hit Shazia in the face near her left eye and the area had swollen, forcing the closure of the eye. |
