| Block level competitions in Rajouri from March 7 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, March 03: Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) shall be conducting block level competitions, under Central sponsored scheme of PYKKA, in different events for under-16 youth of district Rajouri.
This was disclosed by District Officer, Rajouri, Mohammad Din. Starting from March seven, the week-long activities shall complete with the holding of inter-block competitions on March 13 at Rajouri.
Earlier, sharing details, the district officer said that the two-day sports meet at Sunderbani in the disciplines of basketball, kho-kho, athletics, wrestling and badminton shall take place on March seven and March eight at Army ground.
Similarly, hockey, football, handball, wrestling and athletics events at Nowshera shall be conducted on March 10 and March 11 at Sports Stadium.
Competitions in different events shall also take place at Kalakote (T Ground), Budhal (HSS Kand), Darhal (HSS Darhal), Thanamandi (HSS Tanamandi), Rajouri (Mini Stadium) and Manjakote (HSS Manjakote).
“All the Zonal Physical Education Officers of the district have been directed to raise Panchayat level teams at their respective blocks for not less then five disciplines. The competition is open for both student and non-student youth,” informed the district officer.
The first three position holders are entitled for prize money as admissible under rules of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Besides this, the participants shall be provided with boarding and lodging charges as also transport and refreshment.
