| Tarigami for constituting expert committee to check road mishaps | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 3: MLA, Kulgam, Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami has demanded constitution of an expert committee comprising engineers and other experts in the field for devising effective measures to contain incidence of road accidents in Chenab valley districts.
This report, he said must be tabled in the house for discussion. Intervening during Question Hour in Assembly today on the issue, he downplayed traditional replies by the government on such questions. He said that questions on these issues and replies thereof come up in every session but to no avail.
Tarigami also regretted use of force on peaceful protests of un-employed professionals. He noted with concern lathicharge incidents on the protesting youth in the face of democratic government in place during last several months. He questioned the silence of the government, saying that even officers like Deputy Commissioner, Director or Commissioner Health and others have not spared a few minutes to engage the unemployed technocrats in the talks. |
