| Kathua residents up in arms against UDISSMT scheme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Mar 3: People in Kathua town are up in arms against the messy implementation of UDISSMT scheme in Kathua town.
District president of People Action Committee (PAC) Kathua Gian Singh Pathania today lodged strong protest at Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kathua. He said that the scheme is functioning in Kathua merely to appease certain political leaders. Committee urged the government to conduct high level enquiry in the bungling of this scheme in Kathua town.
Agitated people of Shiv Puri warned the government that if the works are not carried out properly, they would launch a mass movement. After that, Additional DC Kathua Rohit Khajuria assured the people that administration would not allow any wrong thing in connection with the scheme. He added that quality of the work would be checked to improve quality of work. Others who were part of the protest included Capt Tarsem, Krishna Chand, Rattan Verma, Luxmi, Savitri, Rano Devi, Prito Devi, Poli Devi, Kamlesh Vijay, Mulkh Raj, Trishla, Mohinder Paul, Beena, Pushpa Devi Muqtiar Ahmad and Ajay Kumar.
