JMC continues drives against adulteration | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March 3: Under instructions from Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu S.C. Sawhney, the Health Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation along with team of Food Inspectors continued the drive to check the quality of food items and inspected about 110 food establishments in the areas of Jewel, Bikram Chowk, Ware House etc. During the inspection 18 defaulters were booked under the provisions of Prevention of Food Adulteration Act 1954 and J&K Municipal Corporation Act, 2000. An amount of Rs. 3300.00 (Rupees three thousand and three hundred) was charged as fine from the defaulters and about 25 kgs of stale food and ice cream were destroyed on spot. Even the food establishments owners within jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation are informed and impressed upon to get their PFA licenses renewed before 31.03.2011 positively.
