Haryana, Rajasthan Physiotherapist join Jammu physio in protest | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 3: To mark their resentment against the J&K State Government for its indiscriminatory attitude towards the genuine demands of JKPA, presidents of Haryana Physiotherapist Association (HPA) and Rajasthan Physiotherapist Association (RPA)sat on indefinite hunger strike in front of Old Div. Com. Office, Mubarak Mandi, and Jammu. HPA president Jagat Singh; Rajasthan Physiotherapist Association President Rakesh Verma and Ravi Duggal(Panipat) alleged that 101 days have passed since these Physiotherapy Doctors are protesting for their cause but none from the State Government approached to hear their plights.They said that the indiscriminatory role played by the State Administration over the JKPA members on 1st March 2011 during their Secretariat March was very shameful act. They alleged that this is in violation to the fundamental right to speech and expression of an Indian Citizen which left 21 injured out of which 3 were serious and 70 in Police Custody. Dr. Jagat singh alleged that in no other Indian State so much brutality is shown by the Administration to curb the rights of Protesters. They said that this agitation will be taken to each and every city of India to expose the real face of J&K Government. Dr. Vimal Singh said this is the fight of their basic rights which is the need of Public Health. It is the moral responsibility of a democratically elected Government to look after their basic needs.Dr. Pardeep Mahotra warned the State Government that the responsibility of the health of these 3 hunger strike protestors lies with the Governments of J&K, Haryana and Rajasthan. If anything happens to these guests of the State then the consequences will not be healthy for the Government.Meanwhile Riaz Atish, State Secretary Youth Wing PDP came to the Dharna site. He sat with the hunger strikers and assured that PDP will fight every tooth and nail with the Physiotherapy Doctors to get their rights both with in and outside the Assembly.
