Dr. Manmohan Singh's attention was also drawn towards earlier four meetings SADN delegates had with him during his earlier visits to Jammu and Kashmir during the period of 2007-2010 and urged Prime Minister to do justice by providing Rs.30 lakh as one time compensation besides employment package/reservation of jobs and admission to professional Institutions. The employment package for one lakh jobs quota announced by Union of India should clearly and specifically include children of DPs of 1947 including Sikhs.

He further appealed to the DPs to remain vigilant against vested interests. He thanked Madan Lal Sharma and Ch. Lal Singh, Members of Parliament for supporting the cause of DPS of 1947 from PoK.
Dayal Singh Wazir requested the Prime Minister to get minority status for Sikhs in J &K so that benefits of being in minority also start flowing to them . He also demanded that Sikhs of Kashmir Valley be provided incentives and employment package so that they continue to stay in Kashmir. He also requested that three seats in legislative assembly constituencies be reserved for Sikh. Union Government is being approached to impress upon the State Government to declare Sikhs as minority community and provide benefits to Sikhs accordingly. Reservation in jobs and admissions to professional institutes be provided on the pattern adopted by Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka Tamil Nadu, Kerala and West Bengal for Muslim and other minority communities.
